Mary Ella Trader-Wise, dedicated to church
Mary Ella Trader-Wise, 96, formerly of Selbyville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving Philadelphia, Pa. family Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015.
Born in Withams, Va., she was the fifth child of eight siblings born to the late Isaiah and Elizabeth Cropper in which she survived them all. As an adult Mary spent her entire life in Delaware. She was a dedicated member of Zoar United Methodist Church in Selbyville, since the early 1950s, where her ministry was serving on the Senior Usher Board under the pastorate of the late George W. Taylor. Mary also loved to sing and later joined the Roy-Moore Gospel Singers and she was also associated with the United Methodist Women’s Society.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory her family, Teola (Elroy), Elroy Jr., Brittingham; stepchildren, Cordrea, Stacey, Troy, Dianna, Debbie, Elexis, Ceara, Tommy, Ruth, Jonathan and Nicki; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester Wise of Felton, Calvin and Rosetta Wise of Baltimore, Md., Pauline and Raphael Williams of Adelphia, Md.; and numerous great-nieces, -nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of her live will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, at 1 p.m., at Zoar United Methodist Church, Selbyville, where friends may call at noon. The Rev. Timothy A. Duffield, Sr. will officiate and burial will follow at the Zoar Golden Acres Cemetery in Bishopville, Md.
