Maury D. Schwinn, carpenter

Maury D. Schwinn, 48, of Millsboro, formerly of Medford, N.J., passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

He was born July 10, 1963, in Mt. Holly, N.J., son of Maurice and Lois (Jones) Schwinn. Mr. Schwinn was a self-employed carpenter before his illness. Maury loved being on the water. He enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Schwinn.

Maury is survived by his mother, Lois Wood and her husband Charles of Millsboro; two brothers, Christopher (Mary) Wood of Schnecksville, Pa. and Erick (Lisa) Wood of Voorhees, N.J,; and a sister, Susan (Kevin) Giunta of Mays Landing, N.J.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may call after 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Maury’s name to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or the Tunnell Cancer Center, 18941 John J. Williams Hwy., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
