McGuiness has dedicated herself to service

August 16, 2024

I am writing to give my support to Kathy McGuiness in the upcoming Democratic primary for the 14th District. I have known Kathy for some time, first meeting her at the League of Local Governments when she was a Rehoboth commissioner and I was mayor of Newport. I was impressed that she always looked to do more than was asked to get things done. Her dedication to public service is unquestioned, starting with Rehoboth Beach Main Street. Her acumen as a pharmacist and Realtor gives her a unique understanding of small business that is simply lacking in her opponents. She stands tall in the face of adversity, as evidenced by her conduct during her recent tough time in which, of course, she was vindicated. She was also a trustee for Delaware State University, from which she resigned when she was elected auditor to have no appearance of impropriety or conflict of interest. Kathy has dedicated herself to public service at every level, and I am sure that will continue when she is elected to represent the people of the 14th District. I urge all of my fellow Democrats to vote for Kathy McGuiness in the Tuesday, Sept. 10 primary.
