The McKinney family, owners of Pier Point Marina on Rodney Avenue, were given special recognition from Dewey Beach Town Council for restoring the marina, which was damaged during Superstorm Sandy.
Pier Point Marina has been a presence in Dewey Beach since 1944 and has been in its current location since 1966, Charles McKinney said.
Mayor Diane Hanson presented a plaque to the McKinneys in recognition of their teamwork and perseverance at a Nov. 9 town council meeting.
