Medical doctor to speak at creation conference Nov. 10-12 in Lewes

November 2, 2017

Longtime practicing medical professional Dr. Tommy Mitchell will bring his expertise and passion regarding creation to Lewes for the Answers in Genesis conference hosted by New Covenant Presbyterian Church Friday-Sunday, Nov. 10-12. A graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Mitchell considered himself to be a theistic evolutionist. After much reading and study, he became convinced of the errors in evolutionary philosophy, and his eyes were opened to the truth of the biblical record of creation, acknowledging that God's word is true from the first verse. In the prime of his 20-year thriving medical practice and career, Mitchell left the industry to pursue creation ministry full time.

Since 2005, Mitchell has spoken for Answers in Genesis to thousands of adults, youth and children in a variety of settings, clearly communicating reasons to trust the Bible and the creator Christ who wrote it. He has written articles for AiG's website and other publications, and he was the featured speaker during AiG's relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina, resulting in an award-winning DVD, "A God of Suffering?"

As a scientist, physician and father, Mitchell has a burden to provide solid answers from the Bible to equip people to stand in the face of personal tragedy and popular evolutionary misinformation. Using communication skills developed over many years of medical practice, he is able to connect with people at all educational levels and unveil the truth that can change their lives.

Ken Ham, president, CEO and founder of Answers in Genesis, said, "I unreservedly recommend Dr. Mitchell to you not only as a superb speaker, but as a sincere, dedicated Christian and great family man. He brings a wealth of experience from his medical background that makes each of his talks unique, yet he still gives the basic message of biblical authority, starting in Genesis."

Answers in Genesis is an apologetics ministry dedicated to helping Christians defend their faith and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. It focuses on providing answers to questions about the Bible - particularly the book of Genesis - regarding key issues such as creation, evolution, science, medical ethics, the age of the Earth and cultural relevance.

The conference is free to all participants, and lunch on Saturday will be included. Childcare will be provided for those who register their children on the online registration form. For more information and to register, go to www.ncpchurch.com.
