Morris James LLP recently announced that Meghan A. Adams has been confirmed by the Delaware Senate to serve as a judge of the Superior Court of Delaware. The confirmation follows Gov. John Carney’s nomination June 12. Adams appeared before the Senate Executive Committee affirming the opportunity.
“We are immensely proud of Meghan as she is confirmed to serve as a Superior Court judge,” said Lewis H. Lazarus, chair of the Corporate and Commercial Litigation Group. “Although she will be missed at Morris James, the state is gaining an invaluable asset.”
Adams has been a member of the firm's Business Litigation group since 2014 and focused her practice on corporate and commercial litigation. She has represented clients in a wide variety of matters in the Delaware Court of Chancery, Delaware Superior Court, Complex Commercial Litigation Division, Supreme Court of Delaware and the District of Delaware, including in the areas of corporate governance, complex commercial litigation, stockholder litigation, fiduciary duties, limited liability company and limited partnership disputes, officer and director indemnity, and breach of contract.
Adams is the incoming president of the Richard S. Rodney Inn of Court, an organization dedicated to improving the skills, professionalism and ethics of the Delaware bench and bar. She currently chairs the Partnerships and Alternative Business Entities Subcommittee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
