Milford man wins $238K in Delaware Lottery

February 22, 2022

A 55-year-old sanitation technician from Milford recently purchased 10 Multi-Win Lotto tickets for the Feb. 11 drawing while visiting Tiger Mart in Dover. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, was shocked to discover that one of those tickets matched all six numbers, making him a $238,000 winner.

The Delaware native said he has been playing Delaware Lottery Draw Games for about 30 years. He selects his numbers using Quick Pick, and usually purchases seven tickets at a time. “I decided to buy a few extra Multi-Win Lotto tickets this time, just to see if I could get lucky,” the man said. “I never expected I would end up winning more than I ever have before.” He was happy to share the excitement of this $238,000 win with his wife, whom he called immediately after scanning the winning ticket.

“It’s been quite an eventful Monday for Delaware Lottery players,” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. “This $238,000 Multi-Win Lotto prize winner is the second player to claim a six-figure prize today, with an Instant Game player bringing home a $150,000 top prize just this afternoon. What a great way to start the week.”

When asked what he intended to do with his winnings, the man said he plans to put the money toward a new home. “We’ve been looking at houses, so the timing is perfect,” he said.

The winning numbers from the Feb. 11 drawing were 07, 17, 27, 28, 29 and 35.

The man claimed his prize from Lottery Headquarters Feb. 14.
