Hundreds of people packed Milton Memorial Park Aug. 2 for free food and a chance to meet and greet officers from Cape Region police departments.
The annual event, which is intended to break barriers between police and the people they serve, included fun and games for the children, information booths, live music and a demonstration from Milton Police Department’s two K-9 officers.
Milton Police Department also unveiled its plans to add an auxiliary patrol, similar to a Neighborhood Watch program, to be manned by volunteers. A special patrol vehicle will be provided in efforts to bolster the department’s crime fighting. People interested in participating should call the department at 302-684-8547.
