Milton’s Sip! Bar opens two Tanger Outlet locations
Just in time to take advantage of all the holiday shoppers, the owners of Milton’s Sip! Bar have opened two new locations – one in Tanger Outlets Seaside and one in Tanger Outlets Midway.
During an interview Nov. 25, co-owner Kristen Latham said the expansion was perfect timing. Her coffee shop Suburban Farmhouse closed its doors in October after three years in downtown Milton. All that coffee shop equipment was about to be moved across the street into The SpEcKlEd Roost, another store she co-owns with husband Marc and business partner Stephanie Przygocki, when a fire forced the closure of that business too.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, Latham said they were approached by a Tanger Outlet representative. A couple of weeks later, the coffee shop was open in Midway. A couple of weeks after that, the coffee shop was open in Seaside.
“We didn’t have any place open, but we had all the equipment. Why not give it a try?” said Latham, who is still getting used to having space at the outlets. “We’re a tiny, tiny fish in a large pond.”
Joining the business partnership is Bobbi Robinson, a longtime baker for a local restaurant group. She will be in charge of the kitchen end. All the recipes will be the same as they were at the Farmhouse, said Latham.
“She makes magical things,” said Latham about Robinson’s food.
Robinson said to begin with, the menu will be primarily breakfast foods, but the goal is to add soups and sandwiches soon.
The outlet locations will also feature the SpEcKlEd Roost’s home decor offerings.
“There’s a little bit of something for everyone,” said Robinson.
The Sip! Bar is open seven days a week, but the hours of operation are dependent on the hours of the Tanger Outlets, which can change during the holiday season. Latham said they’re allowed to be open 30 minutes prior to the retail stores opening. For more information, go to the Sip! Bar Facebook page or call 302-864-5124.
