Milton 9-11 squad eliminated from regional tournament

The Milton 9-11 all-stars represented the First State with pride in Beverly, Mass., for the East Region Invitational.
Despite dropping the first game to a squad from New York 11-1 July 29, the Milton boys bounced back July 30, with an 8-0 win over a team from New Hampshire.
Reid Duncan tossed a complete-game shutout, striking out four and walking one in five innings of work.
After scoring one run in the first inning, Milton exploded for seven runs in the third inning. Recording hits in the outburst were Zach Faryna with a double, and Emmett Goodwin and Ronan Lotter with singles. Dominic Nelson connected for an RBI sac fly, while Benjamin Haupt drew a walk.
Also recording hits in the game were Owen Croce, Camden Bloom, Aiden Veith and Easton Goodwin. Duncan walked twice and scored two runs. Easton Goodwin, Croce and Lotter each had a stolen base.
Milton dropped its third game of the tournament 6-0 to the squad from Massachusetts. The loss meant the end of the road for the Delaware squad, who also visited historic Fenway Park in Boston during the trip to New England.
