Milton Arts Guild will offer Landscape from Start to Finish, a direct painting class with lifelong artist John Schisler from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, Oct. 18, online via Zoom and in person at the studio at 310 Walnut St., Milton. The class costs $50.
Schisler will teach beginning and intermediate students how to create a landscape using the all prima direct painting method by applying pigments wet into wet. In this method, layers are never allowed to dry before the next is applied.
Schisler began his studies at age 17 at the Conrad Miller Studio in Fells Point, Md. He studied Maroger mediums and the techniques of the Dutch masters through his teachers Nancy Lee Conrad and Melvin Miller, both of whom were students of Jacques Maroger.
A photograph of the landscape to be painted will be supplied. For a complete list of other supplies and to register, go to miltonartsguild.org.
