Milton Arts Guild unveils student art show

Student artists took over the showroom at the Milton Arts Guild March 3 for the opening of a new student show.

About 60 artists from the three Milton schools – Milton Elementary School, H.O. Brittingham Elementary School and Mariner Middle School – submitted works for the show. 

Milton Arts Guild President Lynda Rae Gannon said the show was the guild’s way of trying to have a diverse and younger show than normal. Guild members Jeff Crawford and Sue Dutton coordinated with teachers Cherylyn Minto, Ali Selders and Rebecca Pepper to recruit students and set up the show. 

 

The first-place winner from Mariner Middle School was Leah Carlisle, with her “Self Portrait.”
Finishing in second place among H.O. Brittingham students was Rowen Ramirez for his “Winter Cardinals” piece.
H.O. Brittingham’s first-place winner was Isabella Alonso for “Watercolor Hearts.”
