Milton Historical Society holds Celebrity Chef Cook-Off

Smiling as she cooks is Chef Pat Grieninger from Almost Home Catering. Grieninger prepared potato-cheese and cabbage perogies with brown butter sage sauce and carmelized onions. Helping Grieninger is Helen Camenisch.

Chef cook-off organizers and MHS board members spoke to the full house of foodies. MHS President Marie Mayor held a moment of silence for the late Tom Draper, who contributed his time, money and energy to the MHS. Shown are (l-r) Dave Carey, Mark Carter, P.D. The Milton Historical Society held its Second Annual King Cole Celebrity Chef Cook-Off Sept 9 at the Milton Fire Hall. Six area chefs competed for the cash prize, with all proceeds benefiting the Milton Historical Society and the Lydia B. Cannon Museum.
The rules were that a vegetable canned by the King Cole Cannery had to be used. The Draper-King Cole Cannery in the 1800s was one of the largest employers in Milton.
