Moorings resident Ellie Schaeffer celebrates 100th birthday

Ellie Schaeffer, a resident of The Moorings at Lewes, celebrated her 100th birthday Feb. 25.
Schaeffer, originally from White Plains, N.Y., is a Navy veteran who served as a communication technologist in World War II and Korea. After her military career, Schaeffer worked for the National Security Agency.
Schaeffer now enjoys painting and playing her harmonica and ukulele. Shaeffer’s niece, Lou Willenbacher, traveled from Georgia to help celebrate.
