Music scholarship applications due April 22

The St. Cecilia Music Guild, an outreach ministry of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Lewes, is now taking applications for its annual scholarship. Graduating seniors from a high school in Sussex County accepted to major in a collegiate music program may apply.

The $1,000 scholarship is nonrenewable and will be paid directly to the winner upon award.

Before applying, students should write/gather the following supporting materials: Essay detailing the applicant’s reason for selecting this major and goals for their career; acceptance letter from college or university, and a video or audio recording of a recent solo performance by the student. When the preceding materials have been procured, students may apply online at tinyurl.com/2p8nm9rk.

Applications must be followed by an endorsement from the student’s high school music teacher. A simple online form for the teacher is available at tinyurl.com/2a5dc3yt.

The deadline for applications complete with supporting materials and teacher endorsement is Friday, April 22. All applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision by Monday, May 2.
