Mylz Joshua Anderson-Finney, strong, courageous toddler

October 10, 2023

Mylz Joshua Anderson-Finney, 3, beloved son, brother, and grandson, passed away Saturday, Oct, 7, 2023, at Nemours Children’s Hospital. He was born Nov. 4, 2019.

Our magnificent Mylz, his mommy’s sweet boy, was called to heaven by his older brother, Marcus, to dance on the clouds. In Mylz’s short time here, he impacted so many lives. At just 3 years old, he was a survivor. Mylz beat cancer and a bone marrow transplant, and he was an epilepsy warrior. He fought the fight of a thousand men and won. Mylz had the most contagious laugh, the strongest will, and gave the best fist bumps and hugs with pats. He enjoyed Sing, Baby Shark, Bluey, stroller rides, searching for the ducks with mimi, and mommy pushing him on the swings. The love he had for his sisters was unparalleled. Mylz was the mayor of 3 East at Nemours. We are eternally grateful to his amazing doctors, his nurses (Ms. Deb), caregivers, and all staff at Nemours who treated Mylz throughout his courageous battles.

Mylz was preceded in death by his brother, Marcus; his aunt, Whitney; great-grandparents; and paternal grandfather. He is survived by his mother, Morgan Anderson; his fathers, Maurice Finney and Marvous Johnson; sisters, Remi and Hope; pop-pop and mimi, John and Barbara Anderson, mom-mom, Tabitha Finney and pop-pop Ike; mom-mom, Theresa Johnson; great-grandma, Tish Sturgis; his aunt, Kelly (uncle Gary); uncle, Ryan (Ashley), uncles, Joey, Desmond, William, Thaddeus and Jarvis; and his extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings. Mylz will surely miss his battle buddies, Henry and Maya; and warrior moms, Janet (Tom) and Lynette. Special recognition to Dr. Caywood, NP Erin Tingue, Dr. Gresh, Dr. White, and the entire hematology and oncology department for their wonderful care.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 16, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the service at All Saints’ Cemetery, 20274 Beaver Dam Road, Harbeson. The family invites all to attend a celebration of Mylz’ life after the services at Lewes Fire Station 3.
