Nanticokes to unveil historic marker in Millsboro Oct. 14

The Nanticoke Indian Association will hold a dedication ceremony for a historical marker at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 14, at Cupola Park in Millsboro, to recognize Nanticoke culture and the tribe’s history in the Millsboro area. 

The public is welcome to attend this landmark event.

Bonnie Hall, who spearheaded the celebration, is a past NIA Tribal Council member. Committee members include Chief Natosha Norwood Carmine, Millsboro Town Manager Sheldon Hudson, Sussex County Historical Planner Dan Parsons, Delaware Public Archives Historical Marker Coordinator Katie Hall, Sterling Street, and Herman Jackson.
