Nate Myers & the Aces to play free outdoor concert in Lewes Aug. 16

August 7, 2018

The free Concerts by the Canal series continues with the return of crowd-pleasing Nate Myers & The Aces.

The band will be back by popular demand with a performance at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, in Lewes Canalfront Park.

Returning for their fourth performance, Nate Myers & The Aces plays energetic roots, funk and blues originals as well as covers, always with a focus on engaging and entertaining their audience. Led by vocalist Nate Myers and his harmonica, the band has shared the stage with national artists including Kansas, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer and Cheap Trick.

The band creates a loose, casual atmosphere, and everyone can enjoy a beautiful summer evening on the banks of the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal. Whether the audience prefers to sit back and listen or get up and dance, there is something for everyone. Attendees may bring a blanket or lawn chair, and maybe a picnic supper.

The free event is made possible through support of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park. Upcoming free special events in the park are the movies “Hairspray” Thursday, Aug. 23, and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” Thursday, Aug. 30. Pooches in the Park will take place Saturday, Sept. 8.

The park is at 211 Front St. in historic Lewes.
