New Jane & Georgie store goes up
Jane and Georgie is once again taking its place at 419 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach.
George Chambers, father of owners Kate and Lisa Chambers, said the new store would be open in two weeks.
On Feb. 19, the old store was moved to a lot on Burton Street in West Rehoboth to be converted into a single-family home by the Coalition for West Rehoboth. When the Chambers’ knew they would be building a new store, they decided to donate the old building, which dated to 1901.
The coalition undertook a $10,000 fundraising effort in less than a month to pay for raising power lines on Rehoboth Avenue Extended, allowing the house to move through.
Ryan Mavity covers Milton and the court system. He is married to Rachel Swick Mavity and has two kids, Alex and Jane.
