Rehoboth planners to meet Sept. 11
The Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission has scheduled an online meeting for 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11.
The agenda calls for an update on the comprehensive development plan and an executive session to receive legal advice and opinion regarding potential litigation relating to the commission’s approval of Clear Space Theatre Company’s site plan.

Dewey commissioners meet Sept. 11
Dewey Beach commissioners will meet virtually at noon, Friday, Sept. 11. A link to the meeting is available at www.townofdeweybeach.com. Commissioners will possibly vote to approve a salary range for the town manager position, and will discuss recommendations by the comprehensive development plan committee as well as COVID-19 budget scenarios.
Dewey Board of Elections sets hearing
The Dewey Beach Board of Elections will hold a public hearing at 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11, to hear complaints submitted by Dave Davis alleging that David Moskowitz is ineligible to be a commissioner candidate, and may possibly vote to determine Moskowitz’s eligibility.
Annual 9/11 ceremony to be held near Lewes
Roger and Carol Whitford will hold their annual Sept. 11 Patriot Day ceremony at 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11, at their home, 17181 Minos Conaway Road, Lewes. Their son Mark, a member of Fire Department of New York’s Engine 23, was one of 343 firefighters to lose their lives that fateful day. Since moving to Lewes eight years ago, Roger and Carol have held a 9/11 ceremony annually to honor those who died. This year’s event will include singing. Precautions such as masks and social distancing will be in place at the event.
American Legion to host 9/11 ceremony
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 will hold its annual 9/11 candlelight ceremony at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11, at American Legion Post 28 pavilion, 31768 Legion Road, Millsboro. This event is open to the community. For more information, go to www.alpost28.com.
