Shellfish grounds available for lease
The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s Division of Fish and Wildlife announced Jan. 4 that shellfish grounds in the Delaware Bay are available for lease.
The grounds are located south of the East Line and north of the Murderkill River. This notice does not pertain to shellfish aquaculture leasing in Delaware’s Inland Bays.
Upon request, DFW will furnish a detailed description of the specific shellfish grounds currently under lease.
Any person wishing to lease available areas within the defined boundaries of the shellfish growing area shall make application to DNREC prior to Saturday, March 15, on a form provided by DFW. In the event that more than one application is received for the same grounds, they will be leased by competitive sealed bid and above the base fee for the first year.

Lewes architecture meeting canceled
The Lewes Historic Preservation Architectural Review Commission meeting set for Thursday, Jan. 8, at the Rollins Center has been canceled.
A new meeting date has not been set.
Environmental group to meet in Rehoboth
The Rehoboth Beach Environmental Advisory Committee will meet at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 9, at city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave.
The agenda includes a review of a draft community lighting ordinance and a discussion related to an artificial turf ordinance.
