DRBA public hearing on fare changes set
Delaware River and Bay Authority officials have rescheduled a virtual public hearing to 6:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 9, to discuss the goals and objectives of proposed fare changes at the Cape May–Lewes Ferry. Among the changes to be considered are fare adjustments to reflect inflationary pressures, along with selected fare decreases to encourage family and multi-trip travel at the bistate agency’s southern crossing facility.
“These modifications are designed to not only help reduce the operating subsidy of the ferry, but also to make travel for families and frequent travelers more affordable,” said Heath Gehrke, ferry operations director. “We are hosting this virtual public hearing to get some feedback on the proposed changes. We are looking forward to what our stakeholders have to say.”
