The Delmarva Christian volleyball team honored its seniors May 4, during a match against visiting William Penn.

The Colonials spoiled the party by winning the match 25-23, 16-25, 21-25, 25-16, 15-11. 

The Royals were led by Seth Mifflin and James Baxter with 28 and 16 kills, respectively. Harrison Schlabach pounded six aces. Calab Holloway bumped 10 digs, while setter Jack Rogers put up 63 assists. 

"It was a gut-wrenching loss at the end of the year that does not reflect the hard work and improvement this group of guys has done," said Royals coach Ryan Kaufmann. "We have steadily improved since our first home game against Cape at the beginning of the season, but as in sports, these things don’t always lead to wins. William Penn did an excellent job staying the course and edging out a win on an away game."

Delmarva Christian completed the season May 5 against Aspira, but no results were posted.
