Ogre's Grove branches out to local comic conventions

Online shop to vend at Dover Comic Con Aug. 6
August 4, 2016

The idea of opening a comic shop was planted in Justin and Kristin Sinnott's minds long before they met and moved to Milton a decade ago. Neither ever outgrew the cartoons and characters they loved as children in the '80s. And apparently they aren't alone.

Now that the internet offers opportunities to reach more people who share the same interests, the couple started a website as a seed to bloom eventually into a brick and mortar store. The digital doors to www.OgresGrove.com officially opened May 1.

Hundreds of comic books, ranging from Avengers to Wonder Woman, are available for purchase on the site. The Sinnotts also blog about their favorite characters and host monthly giveaways for fun prizes.

While digging through social media, they discovered there are more comic book fans in Delaware than they realized. They branched out from only selling online and signed up to vend at three local events this summer. The first was First State Comic Con at the Mill Creek Fire Hall in Marshallton June 26. The second was Hashi-Con at the Bridgeville Public Library July 16.

The third event they will attend is Dover Comic Con set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6. The event is free to attend. In addition to the market outside the Dover Public Library where Ogre's Grove will be selling comics and collectibles, the event will host an Artist Alley, multiple indoor events, fan groups and food trucks around downtown Dover.
