Opening reception for Roger Dellar exhibition set May 2

Shadow and Light, a solo exhibition by acclaimed British artist Roger Dellar, will be featured from Saturday, May 2 to Sunday, May 24, at the Peninsula Gallery, 520 East Savannah Road, Lewes.

The show will include new oil paintings from Dellar, some of which were painted in Lewes. The show features 28 pieces from his extensive inventory housed at his studio in Surrey, England, hand-picked by gallery owners Tony and Carol Boyd-Heron. These works depict a variety of scenes, from iconic metropolitan iconography to blooming gardens, portraits of ballerinas and tango dancers, and coastal landscapes with boats galore. The remainder of the show will include images painted on location in Delaware.    

A free opening reception will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., May 2, open to the public, and offering complimentary food and drink. Dellar will be in attendance, giving patrons a rare opportunity to mingle with the UK-based artist.

Also well known as a teacher of art, Dellar is a member of The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, the Pastel Society and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
