Peninsula Ladies Golf Association hosts first tournament

The First Ladies Golf Invitational hosted by the Peninsula Ladies Golf Association took place Sept. 8 at the Peninsula Golf & Country Club in Long Neck.

The tournament, with 104 women golfers from throughout the Delaware-Maryland area, benefited the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter. Vice President Megan DiPanni accepted a donation of $7,000 from the committee at the end of the event.

Tournament sponsors were Schell Brothers and Freedom Boat Club along with 27 hole sponsors.

Winners are as follows:

Flight 1: First, Malloy, Romagnuolo, Stanley and Wilde, GlenRiddle Golf Club, Mulligan's Pointe, Ocean City Golf Club; second, Cranford, Scanlon, Seabrease and Stockson, the Peninsula Golf & Country Club, Rehoboth Beach CC;  third, Caro, Everett, Scofield and Wortmann, the Peninsula GCC, Kings Creek Country Club; fourth, Ashcraft, Hall, Kinhart and O'Linger, GlenRiddle.

Flight 2: First, Bender, Bies, Pratko and Taylor, the Peninsula GCC; second, Corsiatto, Cowles, Dempsey and Touey, the Peninsula GCC, Rehoboth Beach CC; third, Allan, Comly, Forman and Palmer, the Peninsula GCC; fourth, Janes, Paul, Reese and Rooney Heritage Shores.

Flight 3: First, Dellose, Haggerty, Lawson and Weed, Chesapeake Bay Golf Club, Wilmington Country Club; second, Carrier, Halfpenny, McKenna and Ryder, the Peninsula GCC, Knickerbocker CC, Rehoboth Beach CC; third, Barr, Campion, MacNab and Yeager,  Ed Oliver Golf Club, Rock Manor Golf Club; fourth, Grabowski, Hitchens, Lokken and Renner, the Peninsula GCC.

Flight 4: First, Borges, Hartwell, Paolucci and Smeland, the Peninsula GCC; second, Boylan, Lajoie, Platt-Hall and Van Arsdell, the Peninsula GCC; third, Karbonik, Norden, Olson and Sacchetti, the Peninsula GCC; fourth, Cavan, Farrer, Henry and Pinkston.
