Petco has taken advantage of two empty storefronts in the Pelican Square shopping center to nearly double its Midway location next to Acme.
A spokesperson for the company said the space was recently renovated to add a dedicated dog training area and include more products, specifically for cats and dogs. The new space will be nearly 14,000 square feet.
Petco opened its Midway location in 2014. The expansion takes over the spaces previously home to West Marine and Fifth Avenue Jewelers, both of which have recently relocated elsewhere on the Route 1 corridor.
