Let’s begin by saying we love dogs. When walking our dog, we carry dog waste bags to pick up after her. It has become disgustingly apparent on and around the sidewalks of historic Lewes that not everyone sees the need to carry a bag. Equally egregious are those dog owners who have allowed their dogs full access to lawns and gardens when using a retractable leash.
This behavior is not only unconscionable, but it is also a pathway for the transmission of harmful bacteria and parasites to other dogs and neighbors. Consideration for the health and safety of Lewes neighbors is not too much to ask. Please clean up after your dog. You know who you are.
