More than 100 law enforcement officers gathered March 18 in Bethany Beach to hone their skills in preventing child abduction.
Speaking to the officers attending a three-day conference, Delaware Department of Safety and Homeland Security Secretary Joshua Bushweller said thousands of children have been saved by Amber Alerts in the years following the activation of the notification system.
“The threat is real, no question,” he said during the Child Abduction Response Team Training Event. “Protecting children is a moral and legal imperative.”
