Police: Woman tries to run down officer supervising work crew near Ellendale
A Georgetown woman was charged May 5 after police said she tried to run down a correctional officer supervising a work crew near Ellendale.
Police responded at 8:47 a.m., May 2, to Reynolds Pond Road for a report that a woman had tried to run down a correctional officer after she was told to leave the area. Police said Inessa Bagwell, 26, was talking to an offender working in the area when she was told to leave the area. She left, police said, but returned a short time later to argue with the officer, and then drove toward the officer, almost hitting him. Bagwell drove away, and police obtained a warrant and arrested her May 5.
She was taken to Troop 7, where she was charged with felony first-degree reckless endangering and disorderly conduct when refusing to disperse. Bagwell was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on her own recognizance.
