Delaware State Police hand out school supplies at Labor Day event

Josiah Gibbs of Georgetown gets his hair trimmed close by barber Daniel Gueh during the Pro Cutz Sports Barbershop Labor Day back-to-school event. The shop – in the Vineyards on Route 9 in Lewes – offered $5 haircuts with a discount for every “A” in a core subject. Delaware State Police handed out school supplies and refreshments were provided. The shop was filled for the entire time of the event with seven barbers taking part. RON MACARTHUR PHOTOS

It’s hard to tell whether Jerry Smith III is happy or not that he’s getting his hair cut in time for the first day of school.

Pro Cutz owner Chester Hope Jr. prepares to clip Ryan Howell’s hair. Howell is attending Millsboro Middle School. Collena Hope, the owner’s wife, helped coordinate the event.

With light from the front window of the shop on them, barber John Glover styles the hair of William Harmon of Georgetown.
