Q Concert to feature classic ‘70s rock Sept. 29 at Delaware State Fairgrounds
The Delaware State Fair’s second installment of the Q Concert Series, set for Saturday Sept. 29, will overwhelm attendees’ auditory senses and taste buds all at the same time. The Q Concert Series presented by Bud Light includes Rock of the ‘70s + B3 (Bourbon, Beer and Butts) featuring the music of Rare Earth, Poco, Atlanta Rhythm Section and Firefall. Songs like “Get Ready,” “Crazy Love,” “Imaginary Lover” and “Just Remember I Love You” will take listeners back during more than three hours of classic rock performed live at the Q.
Attendees can enjoy the music while sampling any of the 12-plus bourbons that will be on display. Bourbon tastings will include Elijah Craig Small Batch, Larceny Very Special Small Batch Wheated Bourbon 92P, Bernheim 7-Year-Old Wheat Whiskey 90P, Evan Williams Single Barrel 86P, Basil Hayden Straight Bourbon 80P, Jim Beam Black 86P, Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve 120P, Knob Creek Straight Bourbon 100P, Maker’s Mark 46 94P, High West Campfire Whiskey 92P, and Maryland’s own Sagamore Signature Rye 83P and Sagamore Double Oak Rye Whiskey 96P, just to name a few. Signature bourbon drinks will also be available to purchase.
For a limited number of classic rock and bourbon aficionados, the B3 - Bourbon, Beer & Butts VIP Package includes a limited number of full-blown VIP experiences such as close-by parking; express entry into the Q as well as an exclusive 1-1/2 hour tasting opportunity; unassigned seating in a VIP-designated area right in front of the stage; a plateful of barbecue from Mission BBQ with a nonalcoholic beverage, served in an exclusive sit-down dining area inside the Q; and four bourbon tastings, all for the price of $99 per ticket. VIP patrons also have exclusive access to Q&A time with each band before the show begins.
Receive all the benefits of a B3 VIP package plus an Ashton V cigar sampler to enjoy with the bourbon tastings and BBQ in the Big Humidor exclusive Cigar Oasis starting at 4 p.m. for an exclusive 1-1/2 hour tasting opportunity before other guests arrive. This experience is limited, and tickets are available for $149.
The BBQ Package for $59 per ticket includes a concert ticket, express admission into the Q and a full-plate barbecue dinner with choice of up to three meats (BBQ pork, brisket and chicken) and up to three sides all catered and served by Mission BBQ restaurant in Dover to enjoy before or during the concert. Bourbon tastings can be purchased the night of the show however long supplies last. Other food selections and choice of craft and domestic beers will also be available for purchase during the entire event.
Concert-only tickets are available for $32 plus service fee. Bourbon tastings can also be purchased in groups of four the night of the show while supplies last. Craft and domestic beers can be purchased individually throughout the event.
Except for the B3 VIP package, all tickets are general admission, and unreserved seating will be available on the arena floor and in the raised stadium-style seats. Sit-down and tall stand-up tables will also be available.
