Raptor biologist to lecture on bald eagles April 9

Bald eagles will be the featured topic at the next Evening at the Hook lecture presented by former State Raptor Biologist Anthony Gonzon. The event will take place at 7 p.m.,Tuesday, April 9, at the Milton CHEER Center.

Gonzon, who is presently the coordinator of the Delaware Bayshore Initiative, will cover everything attendees ever wanted to know about bald eagles and more. Participants will take a trip back in time to witness the decline of the national bird and its resurgence in Delaware. He will cover the life history of eagles and tell stories about some local birds.

Gonzon holds degrees in entomology and wildlife conservation, and is a biologist and planner for DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife. He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying all the Delaware Bayshore has to offer and encouraging others to do the same.

The Milton CHEER Center is at 24855 Broadkill Road, Route 16, Milton. The program is free, with no reservations required.
