Raymond Eddie Tingle, veteran, hardworking man
Raymond Eddie Tingle, 72, departed this life Monday, Sept. 25, 2023. He was born Oct. 27, 1950, to the late Florence Tingle and the late James Peterson. He grew up in Milton with his mother and bonus dad, the late Leroy Seymore. Leroy reared Raymond as his own, teaching him how to hunt, fish, and do odd jobs. With those skills, Raymond could fix just about anything.
After high school, Ray made the greatest decision of his life and enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. He served from 1969-73 before being honorably discharged.
Ray attended All Walks of Life Outreach Ministry Inc. under the leadership of Apostle Randy Jones. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior Sept. 11, 2023.
Ray was a hardworking man and worked various jobs throughout his life, in which he was able to showcase his skills. He was employed with Draper King Cole Inc., Pier Point Marina, and Clifton Canning Company. He soon realized that he was gifted enough with his hands that he could work for himself. He started his own business, Ray Tingle Handyman Services Inc., and officially retired in 2018 after 25 years of owning his business.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Tingle; and one brother, James Peterson Jr.
He leaves to live out his legacy, his children, Dallas Tingle (Dorlene) of Dover, Dwight Tingle (Katie) of Millsboro, Lorraine Riddick Hazzard (Leon) of Lincoln, and Jackeline Rivera and Jessica Rivera of Sugarland, Texas; sisters, Julia Tingle of Lincoln, Geraldine Peterson of Milford, and Regina Peterson of Georgetown; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where the visitation begins at 10 a.m.
Interment will be private.
