With Halloween just around the corner, businesses participating in the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Abnormal Scarecrow Decorating Contest have begun displaying their entries. Participating businesses are located in the 19971 ZIP code.

Votes can be submitted online through the chamber’s website at beach-fun.com or by paper ballots, which are available at the chamber’s administration office, 306 Rehoboth Ave.

Votes that include a valid numbered entry or business name will be accepted until 11 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31. Only one vote may be submitted per person.

The three scarecrows with the most votes will each receive one Sea Witch sponsor package, which includes a numbered and authenticated piece of the original Sea Witch parade balloon, a limited-edition Sea Witch cloth face mask, a youth- or adult-sized 2021 Lobster Monster festival shirt, and a 20/21 festival pin.

According to the chamber website, as of Oct. 6, there are 26 participating businesses. For more information and a full list of participating businesses, go to beach-fun.com or call 302-227-6446.
