The Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market opened for its 20th season May 5.
Pat Coluzzi, market founder and manager, said it’s hard to believe it's been 20 years. It all got started because she didn’t want to have to go out to the highway to get her produce, she said.
The first year, there were only 14 vendors, said Coluzzi. Now, there’s a full slate of 38, she said.
“It’s great to see how the market has grown over the years and become a real part of the community,” said Coluzzi. “Other than the beach, it’s one of the few things residents and visitors can count on regularly happening during the summer months.”
As usual, the vendors are offering fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, coffee, seedlings for gardens, jams and jellies, desserts and more.
The Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market, located in Grove Park, is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesdays, through October.
