Citing an offer too good to refuse, a(MUSE.) owner and Chef Hari Cameron said his awarding-winning Baltimore Avenue restaurant is closing. The news of a(MUSE.)’s impending closure was announced Dec. 17 by a press release from the restaurant. The final day of service is New Year’s Eve.

“We have been presented with an unexpected opportunity to sell Amuse, and after discussing it with my family, have decided to accept the offer,” said Cameron. “Amuse has allowed me to grow personally and professionally, and I am excited to explore new projects in the area, continue to grow our Grandpa Mac brand and spend more time with my growing family.”

Cameron opened a(MUSE.) in May 2012. Since that time, he said, he’s realized his dream of owning a successful restaurant, meeting wonderful peers in the industry, making new friends, and providing enjoyable, memorable meals.

Cameron, a James Beard Award nominee in 2013, 2015 and 2016, thanked all the farmers, fishermen and food purveyors who worked with a(MUSE.) to help the restaurant serve the highest-quality cuisine possible, while showcasing the best of what our Mid Atlantic area has to offer.

With the closure of a(MUSE.), Cameron’s presence, for at least the immediate future, will be completely gone from downtown Rehoboth Beach. The original Grandpa Mac, located almost across the street in the Shops of Baltimore Commons, closed at the end of the summer. Grandpa Mac at 18756 Coastal Hwy. north of Rehoboth is still open.

Cameron said a(MUSE.) will be open every evening, except Christmas, for the remainder of the year.

“In our final two weeks, we will be planning some exciting dinners and specials, so stay tuned to our social media and be on the lookout for email announcements,” he said.

Cameron said a(MUSE.) will offer refunds for the cash paid on any outstanding gift certificates if unused before Jan. 1. Patrons should contact the restaurant before closing and bring in the gift certificate for a refund. If the gift certificate is used before the end of the year, Cameron, there will be an extra bonus on the restaurant.

“I welcome all our friends to come and share another meal, drink or story with our staff, that has become family, and take in the last couple weeks of a(MUSE.) before we exit so that the space can be made into someone else’s dream,” said Cameron.

Hours of operation for a(MUSE.), 44 Baltimore Ave., begin at 4 p.m., seven days a week. For more information, call 302-227-7107 or go to amuse-rehoboth.com.
