May 24, 2024

Rehoboth Concert Band will strike up the sounds of summer at its upcoming outdoor concert series.

Performances are scheduled for 3 p.m., Saturday, June 1, at Georgetown Presbyterian Park, formerly North Bedford Street Park, 203 N. Bedford St., Georgetown; 8 p.m., Monday, June 3, at the Rehoboth Bandstand, Rehoboth Avenue and the Boardwalk, Rehoboth Beach; and  2 p.m., Saturday, June 15, at 113 Union St., Milton.

With a mix of toe-tapping, flag-waving, spirit-lifting tunes from composers such as John Williams, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, John Philip Sousa and others, these concerts promise something for everyone.

The band was established in 2012 by founding music director Sharon Still. Now under the direction of Steven Kieley, the group consists of 60 instrumentalists ranging from professional musicians and music educators to dedicated amateur adult players and talented student musicians.

These concerts are family-friendly, free and open to the public. Bringing blankets or chairs to sit on is advised for the Georgetown and Milton shows.
