The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company recently received three sets of pet oxygen mask kits donated by the Peninsula Lakes Animal Lovers Group.
While firefighters attempt to get pets safely out of burning structures, they are not able to revive the animals unless they have the proper equipment, meaning pet oxygen masks. These specially designed animal masks can be used both on conscious pets that have suffered from smoke inhalation and pets that need to be resuscitated after losing consciousness from exposure to toxic fumes.
On hand for the donation are (l-r) RBVFC Chief Gordon Boslet and President Mike Simpler, and Peninsula Lakes Animal Lovers Group members Patty Halko, Jane Heaton, Chris Macina, Debbie Dooley and Allison Brick.
