The Republican argument: 1) approves absentee voting but opposes voting by mail. That is a distinction without a difference: logically incoherent. 2) It links voting by mail to fraud without evidence: rationally indefensible. 3) It conflates mailed applications with mailed ballots: intellectually dishonest. 4) It leaves out of account the crucial present context for voting by mail, the raging global pandemic: ethically inexcusable. 5) It ignores the serious risk of in-person voting to health and life in this context: morally reprehensible. 6) It exploits the legal system to impede fellow citizens’ exercise of their legal right to vote: politically corrupt. 7) It is a transparent attempt to undermine a critical foundation of our democracy, confidence in a free and fair election: frankly un-American. This attack - currently a principal direction of the 2020 Republican campaign - is therefore logically incoherent, rationally indefensible, intellectually dishonest, ethically inexcusable, morally reprehensible, politically corrupt, and frankly un-American.
Delaware and America deserve better than this.
