Westminster Presbyterian Church will sponsor a Citizen Response to Active Shooter Events training session with the Rehoboth Beach Police Department at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, at 301 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

The training is free to the public and will last about one hour. It will provide attendees with information on how to respond should they find themselves involved in a mass shooting event and how to take immediate action to save their lives before law enforcement arrives. For more information contact Judy at 302-858-1996.

CRASE is a program developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center at Texas State University. In 2013, ALERRT was named the National Standard in Active Shooter Response Training by the FBI. In 2014, ALERRT was also adopted by the Delaware Council on Police Training as required training for those responding to and dealing with active shooter events for all agencies in Delaware.
