Richard Clifton: Strong art sales signal improving economy

Wildlife artist inspired by Prime Hook scenes
January 7, 2016

Sussex County wildlife artist Richard Clifton said recently that strong sales of original art and prints signal an improving economy.  "I'm happy that a number of my larger originals have sold during this Christmas season."

A frequent winner of federal and state duck stamp contests through the years, Clifton recently held a reception and open house at his Gallery at Eastwind on Cods Road near Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge.  The ducks, geese, deer and other wildlife of the area serve as inspiration for the self-taught artist.

He is shown here with a recent original of Canada geese in a Prime Hook Refuge marsh.
