Rocking the Docks summer sunset shows start June 21
Coastal Delaware’s concert calendar just got a little more full. Rocking the Docks is back at the Lewes ferry grounds for an extended summer lineup that will run 10 consecutive Wednesday nights starting June 21.
Lineup headliners are New Orleans funk legend George Porter Jr.; Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk; steel guitarist virtuoso Robert Randolph; R&B soul singer Danielle Ponder; The Heavy Heavy from England; rock ‘n’ roll/reggae rising star Joe Samba; Nashville southern rockers The Vegabonds; indie rockers Mo Lowda & The Humble; former American Idol contestant Sam Burchfield; and The Amish Outlaws.
Every Wednesday will feature a support act along with a headline performance accompanied by the area’s most incredible sunsets. Supporting artists include local favorite Lower Case Blues; Melody Trucks, the daughter of Butch Trucks and Allman Brothers Family revival fame, backed by The Fitzkee Brothers; Baltimore’s jamgrass Dirty Grass Players; singer-songwriter Nick Jamerson; indie-folk rockers Under The Rug; Philly’s own Dry Reef; and more to be announced. Shows start at 6 p.m. with VIP entry starting at 5 p.m., allowing all guests to enjoy panoramic sunset views on the bay.
Organizers are also launching a brand-new VIP area in partnership with start-up Dewey Picnic Co. VIP ticket holders can look forward to a tented lounge to shade them from the summer sun, private bar, speciality food menu from Grain on the Rocks, yard games and more.
