Santa arrives in Lewes by water taxi

Children’s wish lists can be dropped off in new official Christmas mailbox
November 28, 2020

Thanks to the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and City of Lewes, Santa Claus has set up shop at his house on Second Street. Santa arrived Nov. 27 in a special way aboard the Cape Water Tours and Taxi. He spent time at the public dock on the Lewes-Reboboth Canal to greet youngsters, listen to their wish lists and pose for photographs.

Santa will be in his house in front of Citizens Bank from 1 to 3 p.m. on the following dates: Saturday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 6; Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13; Saturday, Dec. 19.

Children can tell Santa what they want for Christmas but will not be permitted in the house due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They can leave letters for him in a new mailbox built by Brad Foos of Schell Brothers. Santa’s elves will greet everyone and make sure they are wearing face coverings and are socially distanced if they have to wait in line to see Santa.
