Sarah Susan Moore, in real estate sales

January 27, 2021

On Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, Sarah Susan Moore, a wonderful sister, mother and grandmother, passed away at home in Lewes at the age of 74.

Sarah was born Dec. 17, 1946, in Hazelton, Pa., to Willis and Mary Romspert. She was raised in Wilmington, attended Christ our King and P.S. duPont High School. Her brothers William, John and Robert preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Catherine (Kate) Krajewski and her husband Ron; her granddaughters Sarah, Beth, Megan and Caroline; her sister, Mary Agnes (Ree) and her husband Lee Fiddler of Allen, Md.; and sister-in-law Barbara Gilsenen.

Sarah has lovingly shared her home in Lewes for many years with her daughter.  Sarah’s heart and soul was dedicated to her four granddaughters.

Growing up, Sarah, her siblings and her cousins from Freeland and Philly, spent most of every summer at the family’s cottage on Noxontown Lake in Middletown. Sarah could often be the one found egging others into mischief only youth could appreciate. She would be a feisty critter long into her adulthood.

She entered the newspaper field and ran the classified desk at the Cecil Whig in Elkton, Md. While there, she spent time at the new family cottage on the Elk River in Maryland.

Sarah married her high school sweetheart Tim Moore in1969 at Immaculate Conception Church. The young couple lived in Arden for many years, eventually finding their way to Rehoboth Beach. Tim passed away suddenly in 1994, and Sarah then focused her life on daughter Kate and her grandchildren.

Sarah spent many years in real estate sales in and around the beach area. Upon retirement, she settled in her home in Lewes with her daughter and family.

Sarah will be interred with her husband at the Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro. A gathering in memory of Sarah’s life shall be held at a later date.
