School of Nursing Saliba Scholarship awarded to Lewes student

November 10, 2020

Peyton Medd, a Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing student, was selected as this year’s recipient of the Dr. and Mrs. Anis Saliba Scholarship. This year’s award of $1,000 will go toward school expenses.

This endowment was initiated by Dr. Anis and Susan Saliba in 2017 and is awarded annually for the fall semester to a senior student in Beebe Healthcare’s Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing.

Dr. Saliba joined the medical staff at Beebe Healthcare as a surgeon in 1968, joined the Beebe Healthcare board of directors in 1988, and served as chief of staff for many years before retiring as a private practice surgeon in 2003. He continues to serve on the board of directors and is an honorary member of the medical staff.

Peyton, a Lewes resident, was selected by the Nursing Care of Adults team and approved by the Student Services Committee. She graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 2015. She attended the University of Florida and received a bachelor of science degree in behavioral health in 2019.

In January 2020, Peyton participated in the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing’s inaugural service learning trip to Lima, Peru. She currently works part time in the emergency department at Beebe Healthcare as a patient care tech.

“Classmates described Peyton as being very organized, efficient, and adaptable when caring for med-surg patients,” said Tracy Bell, MS, RN, CNE, Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare program coordinator.
