SeaScape communities hold Toys for Tots bike collection

December 10, 2023

SeaScape Property Management recently partnered with residents of the communities it manages to collect and donate 67 new bicycles to Toys for Tots Dec. 1.

The program, which SeaScape operated annually before the pandemic, was revived this year and brought in a record number of bicycles.

Doug Nichols, SeaScape co-owner, said, "Bringing the program this year was a real positive step for our staff and residents; we all wanted to make a positive impact on children in our local community."

The bicycles were donated by SeaScape, which started the program by donating bikes and then put out the call to all its communities. Residents stepped up and brought bikes to their clubhouses, where the property care team at SeaScape picked them up. About 20 of the bikes were in boxes, and SeaScape staff assembled them so they would be ready for use by the recipients. SeaScape then transported the bikes to the Toys for Tots warehouse in Georgetown for distribution.

Chris Nichols of SeaScape said, "It really makes us feel connected to all of the families in Sussex County knowing that close to 70 kids will wake up Christmas morning or during Hanukkah and find that new bike waiting for them. Not to mention the joy it will bring their family seeing that their child wasn't forgotten during the season."

SeaScape is a 23-year-old, family-owned residential property management company in Sussex County, employing close to 40 local team members. Its sister company SeaScape Residential provides long-term rentals and vacation rentals in eastern Sussex County.
