The St. Cecilia Music Guild will present “Revolution and Independence,” a concert performance by the Serafin Ensemble, a group of internationally acclaimed artists devoted to energetic, collaborative chamber music, at 5 p.m., Friday, April 17, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in downtown Lewes. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. No tickets are required.
A tribute to America's 250th birthday, the program includes a string quartet piece by Benjamin Franklin; works by Archangelo Corelli, Thomas Jefferson's favorite composer; and music by John Antes, one of the earliest American-born chamber music composers.
Featured musicians will be violinists Eric Pritchard and Kate Ransom; Adelya Shagidullina on viola; cellist Jacques-Pierre Malan; Eileen Grycky on flute; Michael Larkin, vocalist; and Gabriel Benton on harpsichord.
Admission is free to all St. Cecilia Guild concerts at St. Peter’s, and seating is first-come, first-served.
The concert will be webcast on St. Peter’s YouTube channel. To view remotely, go to stpeterslewes.org/services-worship/media.
