Six Cape senior athletes sign to play sports in college
Nov. 9 was early signing day for six Cape senior athletes, covering sports from bowling to softball to lacrosse. All the signees were women.
Malia Scott will join the bowling team at Wilmington University. The sport is now in its second year of existence. Scott owns a best three-game series of 716 and has bowled a personal best 297.
Hannah Jones, part of Cape’s home run row in softball, will attend Campbell University in North Carolina, a member of the Big South Conference. Todd Bradley is the head coach.
Cape lacrosse player Eddy Shoop signed to play lacrosse at the University of Florida for coach Amanda O’Leary. The Gators were 18-2 last season and won the Big East Championship.
Katie Klabe has signed to play lacrosse at Winthrop University in South Carolina, where she will join former Cape players Allie Yeager and Kat Judge on the Eagles’ roster.
Cape lacrosse players Cailey Thornburg and Iseabal Cryne have signed to play at Mercer University in Macon, Ga. Mercer is the oldest private university in Georgia, with 9,000 students.
