December 20, 2022

Delaware pastry chef Dru Tevis has been crowned the winner of Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championship.

Tevis, a graduate of the French Culinary Institute of New York, competed for eight weeks to claim the $25,000 prize.

“Thank you everyone!” Tevis wrote in a Facebook post. “I am so proud to be representing Rehoboth. We live in the very best place. The support I have felt from our wonderful community is above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined.”

The show’s judges included Duff Goldman, who owns Charm City Cakes in Baltimore and Los Angeles; Nancy Fuller, owner of Ginsberg’s Foods, a multimillion-dollar business; and Carla Hall, a “Top Chef” alum.

Each episode featured two cooking rounds, with topics covering the feast-centric holidays in November and December.

“It was the most challenging yet thrilling experience in my life, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything,” said Tevis in a November press release announcing his participation in the competition. “I competed with some of the most talented bakers and pastry chefs in the country, and we developed genuine friendships – we learned from each other.”
